Greeks lending more

Foreign nationals are now able to obtain a Greek mortgages at up to 80% loan to value (from 75%).

Buying property in Greece has gained popularity amongst British property investors over the last few years due to the potential for good long and short-term rental returns.

The improved lending terms has been negotiated by Conti Financial Services Limited (CFS). The companys International Mortgage Advisor, Tom Foster, says: "This latest improvement in terms is an excellent indication of how Greek lenders have begun to realise the huge potential of the international property market, and are now opening the door to more prospective buyers by modernising their products in line with other EU countries."

Variable and Fixed Rate loans currently start at 3.20% for the first year, while mortgage terms of up to 25 years or age 70 is available.
