I have been asked to share my thoughts and my personal experience of attending the National Development Summit.
In February of this year, I attended and spoke at the National Development Summit (NDS) and gave an update on the property market with an emphasis on sentiment and motivations with an update on how the auctions are performing.
To start, this wasn’t my first NDS, I first attended this event in 2019 and then again in 2020. When Covid kicked off, all in-person events pretty much stopped immediately, so when the event was announced, I knew I had to attend again. I had it in my mind that the National Development Summit would be a key fixture in my professional and social calendar.
So enough of the fluff. Here’s what and who you missed at the last NDS…
For transparency’s sake, I arrived late but I managed to bump into some people I had not seen in person for quite some time and in addition I had managed to listen to a few of the panel sessions that had been planned for the day.
I was happy prior to the event to have introduced a number of the guest speakers who were on the panels. There were a number of finalists and winners of the Property Investor Awards - I had the opportunity as a Judge to have a nose through the deals they had submitted and I was impressed not just with the deals, but with the perseverance and fortitude that is required to be a successful
property developer.
