The decision to introduce Home Information Packs (HIPs) have been criticised by Tory MP and AMI chairman John Gummer.

Speaking at the recent Association of Mortgage Intermediaries’ annual dinner, Gummer said: “I would be foolish if I thought that Hips were more than a load of old rubbish. They are wrong and misleading but we will carry out our duties as well as can be, and even though we hope Hips will be replaced by something more sensible, we will get on with the job.”
