Mortgage lending rose by its biggest margin for almost two years in March, according to the British Bankers Association (BBA).
New figures released by the BBA this week reveal that mortgage lending rose by £5.4bn in March, the biggest increase since June 2004.
Last week, the Council of Mortgage Lenders revealed that gross mortgage lending totalled £28.310bn in March, which was the highest figure for that month since records began in 1974.
