£44m Basingstoke development obtains planning

The Vistry Group has been granted planning consent by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council for a £44m development of 145 homes in Kempshott, Basingstoke.  

The 8.29-acre site will see 145 homes, including 61 affordable homes, built with a range of two to four bedrooms.

Keith Carnegie, chief executive officer of Vistry Housebuilding, said: “We are delighted to announce that the second phase of our eight-phase development in Kempshott has been granted planning consent. The latest phase of private and affordable homes, in partnership with Vivid Homes, signals our commitment to providing the local community with quality home of different tenures.  

“The first phase of development has been progressing successfully and we look forward to delivering the second.”  

This is the second phase of the Hounsome Fields development, an eight-phase, £232m development, which comprises a combined area of 43.9-acres and commenced in September 2019.  

Construction is expected to start in January 2021, with the first show home due to open in June 2021. Vistry will partner with Vivid Homes for the provision of the affordable housing on the site.
