100 jobs created as new care home starts construction

Montpelier Estates, a care home provider, has completed the purchase of Sovereign House in Queensway on Tachbrook Park from property development company AC Lloyd.

The two-storey building has been demolished to make way for two three-storey buildings containing a 78-bedroom care home and 15 care apartments, a car park and landscaped gardens.

Anna Ciesielska, of Montpelier Estates, said: “We have over 20 years’ experience in designing and providing care homes to give much-needed care and a quality environment for residents.

“We want to create a ‘home from home’ feeling which is always paramount in our designs whether that is in the bricks and mortar buildings or in the gardens which adds to the well-being of our patients.

“Now that the legalities have been completed with AC Lloyd, our plan is to start construction in January and we anticipate it will take around 15 months to complete.”

The complex will be operated by Berkley Care Group and will provide 24-hour support for people with dementia and brain-related injuries. The development will feature ensuite bedrooms, day rooms and a dining room along with service support, staff support and ancillary offices.

A total of 100 jobs will be created at the care home – which is expected to open in the spring of 2022.
