Devon mixed-use scheme going ahead

Turley, acting on behalf of CEG, has secured planning permission for a new residential-led mixed-use development in Newton Abbot, Devon.

The Langford Bridge scheme was approved by Teignbridge District Council and will provide 22,000 sqm of employment space and 450 new homes on over 25.65 ha of land.

Phil Jones, Director at Turley, said: “Our multi-service team have been acting for CEG on the proposals from inception, and the approval is the culmination of the hard work of the entire project team. Not only will the development provide high quality housing for the region, but it will also provide significant employment space for the local business community and create green space and a centre for local residents.”

Developer CEG’s proposals include a local centre for retail and community use, green infrastructure and play space, an employment development and associated infrastructure facilities.

Jon Allen, Head of Strategic Development (South) at CEG, said: “The Turley team has delivered a strong application and we welcome their commercially driven planning approach. In addition to helping to meet local housing needs in this popular town, we have secured planning permission for employment space and facilities which will help to deliver a sustainable scheme. We will be marketing the site to housebuilders in the coming weeks.”
