Peel L&P and Urban Splash have submitted a planning application to Wirral Council to build a £55m development of modular homes at Wirral Waters.
The proposed development in the waterside residential quarter would see 347 modular, factory-built homes constructed.
Richard Mawdsley, director of development at Peel L&P, said: “We have entered in to a joint venture with Urban Splash to deliver this project because it is unique in that it will bring the very latest in modular housing design and innovation to Wirral Waters.
“If approved, our Urban Splash development will not only help tackle the housing crisis and take the pressure off greenbelt land but it will transform the site into a highly contemporary, internationally recognised waterside residential quarter for families, individuals and couples wanting to make Wirral Waters their home.”
All of the homes would be customisable by purchasers before being created offsite in the Urban Splash modular factory and then delivered to the site before being put together.
Simon Humphreys, of Urban Splash said: “This new residential quarter is an exciting transformation for Merseyside and we’re delighted to be contributing to this emerging neighbourhood, bringing a wide choice of modern, innovative new homes for people to live in. We look forward to working through the planning stage and commencing with the development of these unique modular homes.”
