Trocoll House in Barking, a build to rent development, has been purchased by PATRIZIA UK from Coplan Estates.
The site has been acquired for the development of a 28-storey tower with detailed planning consent in place for 198 Build to Rent (BTR) units. This acquisition forms part of the Group's wider strategy to acquire, develop and manage BTR properties in the UK. The development will feature 92 one-bed and 106 two-bed apartments designed specifically for the private rental sector.
James Muir, Managing Director at PATRIZIA UK & Ireland, said: "This transaction is in line with PATRIZIA's UK BTR strategy of targeting urban centres with strong demographic fundamentals.
"Trocoll House will offer high quality, larger-than-average rental apartments with great amenities. Following last year's investment in Manchester, this transaction means we now have over 800 units in our BTR pipeline and we remain keen to continue investing in the sector."
Located just 14 minutes from Central London in the centre of Barking, Trocoll House is adjacent to Barking Station, which is serviced by two London Underground lines, the Overground as well as National Rail services. The completed scheme will provide basement car parking space, three roof-top garden areas with views across London, 6,800 sqft of resident amenities and three retail units across 12,600 sq ft.
