This article will work well as an acid test. Where’s your usage of GPT at already (or insert your favoured AI tool here)? There’s plenty of them - the original large language models, then those that sit in front of an LLM, giving it a “purpose” - think pdf.ai for example, not really doing much that GPT or similar can’t, but making it easier for the user, which is always the key to good business.
Are you a daily user, a light user, a sceptic, or still not even tried it? There will be all of those I’m sure reading this article. Is it the holy grail, the saviour, etc.? I’d argue not. Neither is it Skynet, or the end of the world as we know it, as the AI bears are telling us. But it is pretty darned useful.
Firstly - zoom out. AI can help with anything in your property business. Remember that the tool will try to “please” you and tell you what you want to hear, you must ALWAYS remember that. For example, I typed into GPT - tell me five ways to supercharge my property investment business. What came back was: Leverage strategic joint ventures (classic management consultant speak, there), optimise for tax and structure (always sensible), master data-driven sourcing, automate, delegate, systemise (close your eyes, that fits basically every business you’ve ever heard of), and build a brand, not just a portfolio. There’s some logic to that, but that one really fits better in another sector I’d think.
Not bad, though. A starting point. That’s the strategic stuff, and you can go anywhere from there. Right into the weeds. Want a process for something in your business? Start with GPT. Want it to refine existing processes - again, you can upload and ask for critique. You can even start by asking “what makes a great process” or “tell me 10 or 15 or however many steps you need to create a world class process” or similar. It really can run away with you.
