A development site in the centre of Coventry, which is still subject to planning, has been purchased by Unite Students.

Unite intend to build accommodation for up to 280 students, costing approximately £13m to develop including the cost of the land, and will be ready to occupy for the 2017/18 academic year.

Richard Simpson, Managing Director of Property for Unite Students, said: "We are delighted to have secured another excellent site in a strong regional location in line with our development strategy. Our properties in Coventry have performed well over the last ten years and this new property will help meet the growing demand for student accommodation in the city."

The site is adjacent to an existing Unite property and centrally located in the city near the University.
