Westminster City Council has unanimously granted detailed planning permission for the First phase of the redevelopment of Chelsea
Barracks, SW1.
Project Blue Ltd's (PBL) submission comprises three eight-story buildings, housing 74 properties for private sale. The residences, located on the north-western edge of the Chelsea Barracks site, will feature apartments, duplexes, and four duplex penthouses will provide views over Ranelagh Gardens & the River Thames.
A spokesperson for PBL said: "We are delighted to have been granted unanimous consent for phase one of Chelsea Barracks and are absolutely committed to creating a world-class development that enhances the surrounding area, integrates the local community and cements itself as the pinnacle of global luxury real estate."
In addition to the private residential properties, the completed Chelsea Barracks will provide local amenities, leisure facilities and public
squares, streets and gardens. The first phase includes two of the seven garden squares that will in part characterise the development. Additional landscaped, publicly-accessible open space will encompass the prestigious buildings.
The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, said: "I am pleased that Westminster City Council has granted permission for the redevelopment of Chelsea Barracks. This scheme will create new homes and jobs for the capital."
Construction work is anticipated to commence later this year, following the completion of site preparation works.
