Dutch house prices continue to decline

The price of existing owner-occupied residential homes sold in Holland during March 2012 decreased by 4.7% on average when compare to March 2011 according to a joint publication from Statistics Netherlands and the Land Registry Office

The fall in prices increased over the previous month when prices fell annually by 3.4%.

Residential property prices fell in all Dutch provinces as they did in the previous month. Prices in the two provinces of South Holland and North Brabant are below the level achieved one year ago in March 2011.

Over nine thousand existing owner-occupied dwellings were sold in March. House sales are now 13% down from March 2011. The downward trend was observed in all provinces and applied to all types of dwellings in decline
