Your 2017 Goals?

In the December edition, I featured the following quote and I want to repeat it here to make a re-lated point.

"IF YOU DON'T DESIGN YOUR OWN LIFE PLAN, CHANCES ARE YOU'LL FALL INTO SOMEONE ELSE'S PLAN. AND GUESS WHAT THEY HAVE PLANNED FOR YOU? NOT MUCH." -JIM ROHN

I took part in a panel discussion recently. The opening question focused on what people should be doing in 2017? If someone was new to property investing, just where should they start? If someone was experienced then what they should do, based on the predictions for 2017?

One of my fellow panelists nailed it. They said that the right answer depends a lot on the investor and their starting point. What one person should do can be very different to what some other inves-tor should do. For property investing there are many possible paths or solutions. There is no one 'right strategy' or way to invest. It really does come down to what each person wants to accomplish, mixed with what they bring to the starting line.

The key is be honest about who you are - your motivations, interests, skills, assets (soft and hard assets) plus where you want to go. Knowing how to do so comes later. Focus on your why. Be clear on your goal.

As we are talking about property investing, very little is actually that new. You can find someone who has already done what you want to do. Someone else can tell you how once your goal is clear, only you can definite the why. Many can supply the how.
