For the second time in 2020, the organisers of the Property Investor Show, which takes place at the London Excel venue, have taken the decision to postpone their October event due to the impact of Covid-19. The April event earlier this year was also postponed due to the pandemic. The next scheduled event is in April 2021.

 

The announcement is not unexpected, although a long awaited announcement last week by Government has seemingly a given a ‘green light’ to exhibition venues that they can reopen in early October, subject to ‘pilot schemes’ working effectively.

 

The Excel venue is currently in a ‘mothballed’ status having been adapted earlier this year by the NHS into the first Nightingale Hospital. It is unclear as to how long this situation will continue given current concerns over a potential second wave of the coronavirus.

 

The decision to postpone the event by the organisers, Property Investor Media, was also influenced by exhibitor concerns over their staff being confident about attending. Overseas exhibitors facing quarantine restrictions, alongside the likely quality of ‘visitor experience’ being compromised by government guidelines also played a part in the decision to postpone the October event.
