The UK’s average room rent stood steady at £546 per month in October, according to SpareRoom.co.uk. In its latest monthly report it revealed that rents increased to £328 per month in Northern Ireland (up from £327 in 2013), £356 in Wales (up 1%) and £449 in Scotland (up 7%).
Looking at the regions in England, the average rent in the East Midlands is £383 (up 2% year on year) and £385 in the West Midlands (up 3%). In the South rents were on average £462 in the South East and £407 in the South West (both increasing 3% year on year).
Rents in the North East and North West have also increased, by 3% to £364 and 4% to £375 respectively. Both inner and outer London has also seen an annual increase of 4% to £705 and £526 respectively.
