Salford has received its biggest ever planning application

Salford City Council has received its biggest ever planning application to regenerate central Salford, proposing a development covering an area the size of 21 international football pitches.

The plan proposes the building of 864 new homes, 390 hotel rooms, 197,000sqm of office space and 24,000sqm of active use space.
The main zones in the planning application include Irwell Quays, a new commercial district is planned here with new office developments; Irwell Quays Residential is a new apartment-led residential development on the banks of the River Irwell; Chapel Street South, a new mixed-use development with office, commercial, retail and residential spaces; St Philips Church North East and South East, new family town houses are proposed and lastly a residential-led mixed-use development is planned for Adelphi Street.
