Scottish property prices rise 11.1% year-on-year

Average residential property prices in Scotland grew by 5% during the last quarter (April to June 2006) and by 11.1% over the past year. Average Scottish property prices currently now stand at £130,681, according to fresh figures released by Registers of Scotland.

The highest property price increase over the past year was recorded in the Highlands and Islands area, where average property prices grew by 16.7% and now stand at £129,295.

Average property prices in the Lothian region are most expensive and register at £168,914, an increase of 5.5% compared to the last quarter and up 9.9% over the past year.
