Scottish planning laws to include public voice

Major changes to Scotlands planning system will mean that the general public will have to be consulted on new developments from the very beginning, in an attempt to help improve public involvement and prevent conflicts.

Communities Minister, Malcolm Chisholm, said: "We want it to be modern and much more open and inclusive. But we cannot achieve this without fundamental reform of how planning involves people - and, more importantly getting people involved."
