Manchester Councils plans to create a media zone in the central Southern Gateway regeneration area have been thrown into doubt, after the BBC chose Salford Quay for the relocation of up to 1,500 sports and childrens department staff.
The move is scheduled for 2010 and is subject to the BBC obtaining what it considers to be a suitable license fee settlement.
