Vistry Group and Bloor Homes are developing a new community at Leighton West in Crewe that will provide 791 much needed new homes.
Vistry will deliver 408 homes, with 208 of these forward-sold to affordable housing provider Plus Dane Housing. The remaining 200 homes will be sold on the open market under Vistry’s Linden Homes and Bovis Homes brands.
Joe Turner, managing director, Vistry Manchester and Cheshire East, said: “Leighton West will not only address the local demand for high-quality housing, including affordable homes, but will also deliver a host of community benefits – from green spaces to new commercial, retail, and educational facilities – helping to create a vibrant, sustainable neighbourhood for Crewe.”
Bloor Homes will be delivering 383 homes on the site, 39 of which will also be affordable homes.
In addition to the new homes, the new community will include an array of public amenities including allotments, community orchards, footpaths, cycleways, formal and informal play spaces, outdoor gyms and green corridors.
The development will contribute £5.6m to enhance local community services and facilities, which will include a new mixed-use local centre featuring community and leisure facilities, a pub, a children's day nursery and a site for a new primary school. Additional contributions will fund improved cycle links, highway works, NHS support, and Travel Plan monitoring.
