Ardmore to deliver final phase of London’s largest purpose-built life science campus

Reef Group has appointed Ardmore to deliver the final phase of TRIBECA in the King’s Cross Knowledge Quarter.

TRIBECA is London’s largest purpose-built life sciences campus, featuring high-quality workspace, state-of-the-art laboratories, homes, shops and restaurants, as well as its very own campus square, green spaces and amenities. The campus is in proximity to The Francis Crick Institute, the British Library, UCL, Kings College London, as well as hundreds of other life sciences and tech leaders.

The Reflector, The Assembly and The Connector buildings will deliver state-of-the-art lab spaces, with facilities designed for life science businesses ranging from discovery science through to international pharmaceutical companies. The buildings will also have direct entrances to the new TRIBECA square, as well as accommodating new shops, restaurants and rooftop terraces.  The final phase of the works also includes a twelve-storey residential building, which will deliver both private and affordable homes.

Peter Langly-Smith, Development Director at Reef Group, said: “Starting work on Phase 2 of TRIBECA brings us closer to completing this new and exciting life sciences ecosystem at the heart of the Knowledge Quarter in King’s Cross.

“TRIBECA will deliver world class facilities and strengthen the UK’s life sciences offer, allowing it to grow and increase its international competitiveness. There is no better place for our country’s businesses to thrive than in the midst of other leaders in science exploration and technology.”

Phase 2 follows the delivery of The Apex, the first laboratory building on the TRIBECA campus which has secured The London BioScience Innovation Centre as its first tenant. The Apex will build on LBIC’s existing provision to offer additional high-tech lab facilities to its growing customer base.

James Byrne, Ardmore Director said: “We are thrilled to have been appointed to deliver the final phase of the TRIBECA life sciences campus in King’s Cross. I am especially pleased that Reef have shown such confidence in us to deliver one of their most prestigious schemes.

“This award underlines our ability to de-risk complex projects, combining our extensive experience of large-scale commercial and residential construction and our ability to unlock logistically challenging schemes.”
