Countryside Partnerships has secured final planning consents and signed an agreement with housing provider Citizen, to bring the delivery of 247 new homes in Coventry a step closer.
The new development, which will be known as Pickford Gate, will deliver 247 homes, with a mix of open-market sale and affordable tenures. The deal will see Citizen own and manage the affordable homes.
Adam Daniels, Divisional Managing Director, Countryside Partnerships Midlands, said: “We’re proud to be working with Citizen to provide much-needed, high-quality new homes for the Coventry area. This exceptional development will provide new amenities including community centres and a new school, making Pickford Gate a place in which people can thrive as part of a flourishing new community.”
Pickford Gate will form the first phase of the wider Eastern Green scheme, a sustainable urban extension on the western side of Coventry that received outline planning permission in 2021. The overall project encompasses a 353-acre site that will give rise to a new community comprising 2,400 homes, of which 25% will be affordable housing, as well as a new primary school, district and local community centres, a transport hub and extensive open spaces and play facilities.
Nick Byrne, Executive Director of Development at Citizen, said: “We’re really pleased to be working with Countryside Partnerships on another development in the West Midlands at Pickford Gate which will bring more affordable homes to the western side of Coventry.
Countryside acquired the 31-acre site for £17m in March this year.
