M&S Simply Food at Straiton Retail Park to move to larger unit

Planning consent has been granted by Midlothian Council for M&S Simply Food to relocate and gain a further 10,000 sq ft at its Straiton Retail Park location.

The store will relocate from its current location on the lower level of the park to a unit previously occupied by Fabb Sofas in Loanhead.

Leah Taylor, Development Manager at Peel L&P Retail Parks, said: “In these uncertain times, we’re pleased to be moving forward with the new plans for this M&S Foodhall. Straiton Retail Park is continuing to benefit from our constant investment to improve and upgrade the park for customers.”

The new store is set to open in 2021.

Alongside the relocation plans for M&S Simply Food, works are continuing on ‘The Terrace’ development with Muir Construction. Set to complete in autumn 2020, the £10m development owned by Peel L&P will house up to 11 retail operators, with Greggs, Starbucks, Card Factory, The Works, Trespass and Archers Sleepcentre already committed to the site.
