£20m development in Yorkshire gets approval

Loxley Homes has secured permission to start work on a 12 acre site after planners approved their development of 80 new homes in Yorkshire.

The Spring Heights development will include 32 affordable homes, and up to 48 two, three and four bedroom houses on a former agricultural site in the village which is situated between Harrogate and York.

James Elliott from Aspect Architecture, who designed the scheme, said: “Loxley proposed a good scheme, and they listened to what planners and locals wanted to see changed during the consultation that started in 2017.

“As the planners recognised in their final report, the site has social benefits in providing much needed housing, and is located near
bus routes and roads for commuting as well as being able to support local community facilities.”

The scheme was amended in response to concerns expressed by local people during three periods of public consultation.

Work on the site will commence at the end of August with the first phase of homes expected to be available early in 2019, and show homes and a marketing suite are due to open by the end of the year.
