A new modular home product by housing provider RHP Group is being launched soon and will be one of the first homes to be made at Legal and General’s revolutionary factory in Leeds.
The 26 sqm one bedroom apartment will use high quality materials ensuring faster construction, a more eco-friendly build and a marked development cost reduction compared with traditional builds.
David Done, RHP’s Chief Executive, said: “I’m really excited about this new product and the opportunities it can create for those struggling to rent in London. I was blown away when I first saw the prototype – it is spacious, modern and high quality. This is just one of the ways we’re aiming to combat the housing crisis and will contribute to our target of investing £250M in new affordable homes over the next eight years”.
The homes can incorporate many of the features of a much larger flat with the space being made to work hard. Key priorities included providing suitable space for cooking, eating, sleeping, washing, and to study or work, as well as to store essential items and to have visitors during the day, evening or to stay overnight.
