HOW Planning has secured full planning permission on behalf of national housebuilders Taylor Wimpey, Redrow Homes and David Wilson Homes (DWH North West) for 1,000 new homes to be built in Nantwich, Cheshire.
Cheshire East Council approved the submission of what was the largest single reserved matters application to be submitted to the council and paves the way for work to begin.
Jon Suckley, Partner at HOW Planning, said: “We have worked closely with our clients on this important scheme to ensure their plans provide all the key elements to ensure the creation of a sustainable community and that the development meets all of the expectations and ambitions for the area. This permission will enable the Consortium to progress with the scheme in early 2017, delivering much needed new homes in Cheshire.”
The scheme comprises a mix of detached, semi-detached, mid-terrace and apartment dwellings at the 58 hectare site. The development is the first phase in the creation of a major new sustainable urban extension for Nantwich, which will also comprise additional employment development, new community facilities and a local centre to be brought forward as part of future development phases.
The development also bring to fruition the current major investment programme at Reaseheath College as it will release capital to fund the building of the Agricultural Technology Centre, the extension to the Higher Education and Business Centre, with increased teaching space, Sports Science facilities, including a new Sports Centre for College and Community use and new accommodation to replace temporary and sub-standard facilities.
