Planning permission for the redevelopment of the former Meridian TV Studios site in Southampton has been granted by Southampton City Council's planning committee.
Inland Homes plans to build housing on the site, which has been derelict since 2008.
Stephen Wicks, Inland Homes chief executive, said: "We are delighted that Southampton City Council has resolved to grant planning permission for the Meridian TV Studios site. This project has a gross development value of approximately £70m and will provide much needed homes for the Southampton community. We believe that this decision is a reflection of Inland's expertise in planning, and development and are confident that this project will benefit the local community."
Inland is now set to get planning permission for its £70m Meridian Gardens scheme which will provide 351 homes, comprising of 145 one bedroom homes, 174 two bedroom homes and 32 three bedroom homes. The site will contain properties ranging in height from 2 storeys to 13 storeys.
