Property prices in Greece have increased by 27% in the past five years

During July 2023, the asking price for property for sale was highest in the Aegean islands region, where they reached €2,981sqm.

At the opposite end of the scale, property for sale in the Thessaly region only costs €1,209sqm, the lowest in all of Greece.

During the same month, the asking price for rental properties was highest in the Attica region, at €10.93sqm/month. The lowest average asking rental prices were in the Central Greece region, at only €6.04sqm/month.

Nationally, property prices in Greece have increased by 27% in the past five years and average rents have increased by 32% during the same period (July 2018 to July 2023).

In July 2023, the national average for residential properties for sale was €2,389sqm, an increase of 10.4% compared to July 2022.

In July 2023, the national average for residential rental properties was €9.29sqm/month, an increase of 12.1% compared to July 2022.

This means that current gross rental yields for property investors in Greece are around 4.7%, according to data from indomio.gr.
