The sold price of Dutch owner-occupied houses fell on average by 3.3% during January 2012 when compared with those of a year before according to Statistics Netherlands and the Land Registry Office.
All types of dwellings were cheaper in January 2012 than in January 2011 with the price of flats falling the most by 4.3% and terraced houses and corner houses decreasing the least at 2.7%.
However there was an increase over the previous month as prices of existing owner-occupied houses rose by 0.6% during January 2012 relative to December 2011 marking the first rise after five months of consecutive price falls.
The number of properties sold was also down on the previous year by 15% as only just over seven thousand existing owner-occupied houses changed hands in January 2012.
