So, this month we have decided to produce an online issue, as due to a compressed schedule between Easter and the Property Investor Show, unfortunately we weren’t able to get one printed in time so made the decision to put it online. It is full of great articles as usual, hope you enjoy reading them.
First off we have looked at the impact of the conflict in the Middle East and its impact not only on oil prices but also property in the UK, Adam Lawrence has analysed what exactly it means for the market and how it is affecting prices, particularly as inflation is expected to rise (as we published this issue ONS figures were released with the UK inflation rate increasing to 3.3% in the year to March, up from 3% recorded in February). You can read that article here.
Lucia Picinnini has looked at sustainability in architecture and how when buildings are being designed
We have an interview with Neal Hopkinson, where we discuss the planning system and how SME housebuilders have been squeezed out of the market and he offers his thoughts on what solutions could be implemented to turn the tide and help more homes to be built. We filmed this interview and it will be available on our youtube channel and website soon.
Ritchie Clapson offers his thoughts on the development market and how we all need to sometimes take a step back and find our inner peace to ensure we’re making the right decisions, which could be to look ahead and decide to look at an alternative route from the mundane 9 to 5 job, and whether now is the right time to do something about it.
With the Renters’ Rights Act introduction looming on the 1st May 2026, Maxine Fothergill has provided a update on what all landlords and investors need to take note of once the majority of the Act comes into force, with the major changes being the removal of Section 21 ‘no fault’ evictions, fixed tenancies and changes to how you can raise rents being the headline changes. You can read the article here.
Des Taylor offers his thoughts on the property market and he makes a case on how it has now become highly regulated with every decision could have legal consequences, you can read the article here.
We have an article which analyses whether the governments construction targets are in fact achievable and whether the sector has the capacity and demand to turn political intent into opportunities for property investors. Read the article here.
Suzi Carter has taken a look at the state of the commercial property market this month and whether itis either “frozen” due to global uncertainty, interest rates and geopolitical tensions, or it is presenting opportunities to those who know what they are doing. Read it here.
There are of course plenty more articles in this issue, which you can find here.
