In this November edition we have another enlightening example of 'success' being achieved by a property investor/developer in the interview on page 20. Martin Skinner's story is quite remarkable in that he has bounced back so quickly from the downturn of 2008 and he looks set to make some very substantial gains alongside his joint venture investor-partners in their office to residential conversion projects.
It's no coincidence that just as with the three HMO property investors featured in our previous edition a month ago, what
stands out is the absolute attention to detail and research which enables either high development profits or high net rental yields to be gained. In both cases the common theme is about identifying your target customer within a specific location and providing a high standard product to suit the customer's needs whilst making very healthy returns.
And both of these very positive success stories are being achieved in what are regarded by many as 'unfashionable' locations (Croydon and Luton) - far removed from the Central London boom which has primarily been led by international investors.
