First and foremost, I want to say thank you to the editor Richard Bowser for allowing me the opportunity to write a column for the magazine. I've been a long-term subscriber over many years and am always amazed at the quality of its content and I hope to some degree that I can help contribute to this standard of excellence.

What a start to the year we have had at The Vincit Group as we recently took on a new MD, Harinder Paul. The three Directors, myself, Prab Paul and Thierry Lemaire had put in place some bold goals for the next five years, and we knew Harinder would be great in managing the three of us in a proactive manner. As a result we now require a Property Analyst to work alongside Thierry, who is our Acquisitions Director. Finding the right person hasn't been easy which has been a surprise to us. With our contacts in the industry we believed, maybe naively, that the right person would fall into our laps. It soon became apparent that most of the CVs were coming from candidates who had already started their property journey, which we saw as a distraction. We wanted someone who either had no interest in becoming a property investor or someone who was just starting out. With the latter we saw it as a win-win scenario. We would help them grow in their chosen property field and at the same time they would assist us in growing our analyst department. At the time of writing we are still looking…Then we decided to add more workload - let's organise a sourcing workshop!
