New apartment prices increased by almost 8% in Croatia last year

The average price of a new apartment sold in Croatia in 2021 was €1,812sqm, which was 7.8% more than in 2020, according to data from the Croatian Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS). In the capital Zagreb, the average price of a new apartment was €1,039sqm, which was 4.7% more than the year before. 

In 2021, 4,678 new apartments were sold in Croatia, of which 2,594 were in Zagreb and 2,084 in other cities.

According to local reports there is no sign yet of prices falling as in the second half of last year prices rose by 11% when compared with the same period from 2020. CBS data also shows that in the second half of last year, 2,313 new apartments were sold in Croatia, of which 1,185 were in Zagreb and 1,128 in other cities.
