UK's first six-star resort get planning approval

Plans for a new resort adjacent to the Camel Creek Adventure Park, near Wadebridge in Cornwall have been approved by Cornwall Council's strategic planning committee.

The proposed Camel Creek Resort is to be the UK's first six-star resort which sits in a picturesque valley just a few miles from Padstow.

The site covers approximately 83 acres and will comprise 236 luxury holiday properties. The accommodation will include 106 individual villas, 46 treehouses and 84 courtyard properties together with associated leisure facilities including a tropical pool, spa, activities centre, fine and mid-dining restaurants, even a tree house restaurant, retail units and conference facility.

John Broome of Camel Creek, said: "It's fantastic that we've achieved planning consent for our vision for the new park. Our plans have been a long time in the making and this is great news, not just for us as an organisation, but also for the local economy in terms of job creation and investment. We're keen to get on and deliver the new facilities as soon as possible."

The overall scheme will provide up to 970 jobs for local residents and ongoing investment with the intention to start works on site in the early part of 2017.
