Property Investor Awards - 2016

The prestigious Property Investors Awards ceremony, which had sold-out four months ago, was successfully attended by 250 property investors on 3rd December 2016, at the Imperial Hotel in London. During the celebratory evening, and after a long nail-biting wait, the winners of six awards were finally announced. These included:- New Property Investor of the Year, Property Development of the Year, HMO Property Deal of the Year, Property Deal of the Year, Property Investor of the Year and Outstanding Achievement of the Year.

December’s particularly frosty temperatures in central London were braved by guests who had been eagerly anticipating the ceremony which incorporated a luxurious 3-course meal, charity auction and a wealth of entertainment and fun, as well as the awards ceremony itself. Funds are raised through the event annually for different charities and the organisers are delighted to announce that to-date, in excess of £16,000 has been raised for charities including the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Lymphoma Association.

The Property Investors Awards have grown significantly over the last few years and become such a fixture in many people’s diaries that tickets started selling from the beginning of the year. As a result, the event in 2017 has been moved to a larger venue which will accommodate 550 attendees, all of whom are property investors, experts and influencers from the industry.

Cyril Thomas, founder of Property Investors Awards said “I am delighted that the awards provide a platform for investors to be recognised for their hard work and achievements throughout the year.  In an increasingly difficult market, it is important that excellence is rewarded and celebrated and investors have the opportunity to be nominated for their exceptional achievements in a variety of areas.  The awards also offer winners distinction and endorsement and promotes their kudos compared to their competitors in the market.”

Richard Bowser, editor of Property Investor News gave out the award for Property Deal of the Year to Kevin Edge of Civic Construction, recently featured in an extensive interview in the October magazine. Property developer Martin Skinner won two awards including recognition as Property Investor of the Year.

A new award for Outstanding Achievement of the Year was given to Mark Alexander of Property 118 in recognition of the successful legal challenge brought against West Bromwich Building Society which resulted in some £27m being paid back to landlords. Lincoln based Ryan Carruthers won the award for HMO Property Deal of the Year and Simon Harris won the New Property Investor of the Year award.
